About

Does a Pipedeck buy link cost extra?

You pay the shop the price they post that day. Pipedeck may earn a commission after the order is complete; this URL has no buy button of its own.

Pipedeck publishes short guides for a Long Island house you already occupy. Some of those pages have a buy button. If you use the button and the shop later records a finished order, we may earn a commission from that shop. You do not pay Pipedeck. You do not pay a second price. The rest of this page is the longer explanation other URLs point to when they mention a commission.

What actually hits the card

The shop sets the number you see after the click. That can be a lab kit for a Suffolk private well, a filter built for PFAS, under-sink reverse osmosis for 1,4-dioxane, a rental truck, a day’s loading help, grab bars and a shower seat, permethrin for clothes, folding steel garage cabinets, a welder if you actually use one, a pop-up canopy, or patio chairs. You pay that shop what they charge anyone else that morning. A sale sticker or a free-shipping bar is still their price. Pipedeck does not tack on a surcharge.

A commission is money the shop may send us later. It is not a line on your statement. On household guides that send you to Amazon, Pipedeck is an Amazon Associate and we earn from qualifying purchases. You still pay Amazon the listed price. A qualifying purchase is an order the shop counts as complete — not a page view, and not a cart you abandon. The button, when a guide has one, stays on Pipedeck. The checkout does not.

How a button gets chosen

We pick the class that matches the job on that page. We do not rank shops by who would pay more. If a better local program covers the same job — a county kit that actually looks for the same chemicals, a filter whose carton names the mark you need — we will point there instead. The path stays on Pipedeck. The seller is the shop.

Skipping the button is allowed. If you already know the store and you check out without the Pipedeck click, we typically earn nothing. The guide is still free to read. Opening a page never starts a bill.

Well, PFAS, and 1,4-dioxane

If the house is on a Suffolk private well, the useful first spend is a lab kit that looks for PFAS and 1,4-dioxane. A hardware-store strip will not. Suffolk also sells a $100 well test. The number is 631-852-5810. That is a county fee. Pipedeck does not invoice it, collect it, or take a commission from it. The county panel is cheaper, and it looks at different things. A shop kit on the well guide is a different desk.

If the kitchen is on public water and the job is forever chemicals, the PFAS guide is a filter with NSF 53 or P473 on the box, or reverse osmosis under the sink. New York’s limit for PFOA and PFOS is 10 parts per trillion. A fridge pitcher is usually the wrong tool. Replacement cartridges are a later yearly cost; a rebate on the first box does not cover next year.

If the chemical is 1,4-dioxane, a pitcher will not take it out. Reverse osmosis is the class. Near Calverton, test a private well first, then treat what the lab found. Those three jobs sit on three pages on purpose. A well kit is not a filter. A filter is not a finding about your kitchen this week. None of those buy buttons is a reason to book a truck or spray the yard.

Housing, leaving, and aging in the ranch

House prices here rose about four times since 1990. Pay rose about three. That gap is why people stay, share the ranch, or go. About 322,000 Long Islanders ages 18 to 34 still live with a parent. The housing page has no buy button. It is the why. Pipedeck does not earn from a census count, a school-tax bill, or a listing price.

If the decision is already to go, the moving guide is a truck and usually two extra hands for a day. Pipedeck is not the mover. The shop that rents the truck is the seller. Boxes and tape are a later bill. A commission on a truck does not mean we think you should leave, and it does not rewrite the house-price numbers.

More people here are 65 and older than in 1990. Grab bars, a shower seat, and brighter stairs are the usual first upgrades if a parent is aging in the same house and the house can still work. That button is bathroom hardware. It is cheaper than a move when the ranch still fits. It is not a water job, and it is not a diagnosis.

Ticks, the garage, and the yard

East End ticks live in grass and brush. The button there is permethrin on pants and socks — clothes, not the tap, and not the house-price story. Treat what you wear, or buy clothes already treated. That job does not hang on a well kit.

If the house is staying, the garage often is too. Folding steel cabinets are the usual first buy: unbox, stand them up, load them. A welder and a helmet are the second button only if you actually cut metal in that bay. Free shipping and a small sitewide discount sit on those shops, not on Pipedeck.

Shade and the patio are a pop-up canopy in backyard sizes, or chairs that live outside. That is sitting in the yard you already have, not a new deck. A commission on a canopy does not rewrite a well count. A commission on cabinets does not tell you to move.

What we do not get paid for

Opening this page does not pay us. Reading a well guide, a tap guide, a moving guide, or a garage guide does not pay us. Dialing Suffolk well testing at 631-852-5810 does not pay us. We do not get a cut of a water-district bill. We do not get a cut of school taxes. We do not invoice you for the public numbers on a page. There is no membership. There is no subscription. There is no tip jar.

If you never use a buy button, Pipedeck earns nothing from your visit. If you click and then buy the same class of thing later without that click, the shop may not send a commission. That is fine. The guide is still for the house.

If the order is wrong

When you click a buy link you leave Pipedeck. The shop’s checkout, the shop’s card statement, and the shop’s return desk are the ones that matter. A cracked filter, a missing cartridge, a truck that does not show, a grab bar that does not fit the stall, a dented cabinet, a canopy that arrives incomplete — those are the shop’s problem to fix. Do not ship a return to 65 Cedar Street. Do not write Kings Park to reverse a charge. A question about an order belongs with the shop you paid.

Pipedeck is not the name on the card. We are not the seller. We do not hold your payment. If a later commission is cancelled because the order did not stick, that is between the shop and us. You do not owe Pipedeck a balance.

The numbers on the page do not move

The figures in these guides come from public records and named studies: Suffolk well counts and sampling, New York drinking-water standards, house prices versus pay since 1990, census counts of adults living with a parent, census counts of people 65 and older. They do not change because a link is sponsored. A well-test button does not turn Pipedeck into the county. Suffolk well testing is still 631-852-5810. A filter link does not say what is in your kitchen this week. Grab bars are hardware for the bathroom you already have. Permethrin is for clothes. Cabinets are for the garage. A canopy is for the yard.

When you click a buy link you leave Pipedeck. That shop has its own checkout and its own privacy policy. We do not receive your well-lab report, your filter order, or your truck reservation. We do not run a list of Long Island well owners. How a visit is logged is on the privacy page. These pages are guides, not advice tailored to your house; that limit is on the terms.

Pipedeck is written in Kings Park. Legal notices go by post: Gregory Freda, Pipedeck, 65 Cedar Street, Kings Park, NY 11754. There is no public phone on this site. A question about an order belongs with the shop you paid. Who writes the guides is on about.

Who we are

This page has no buy links. If you buy through a Pipedeck guide, we may earn a commission.

Common questions

Do I pay extra if I use a Pipedeck link?

No. You pay the shop the price they post that day. If Pipedeck earns a commission, it comes from the shop later. Nothing extra is added to your card.

Does a commission change the numbers on the page?

No. Suffolk well counts, New York drinking-water limits, house prices versus pay, and census figures come from public records. A sponsored button does not rewrite them.

What does Amazon Associate mean here?

On guides that send you to Amazon, Pipedeck is an Amazon Associate and may earn from a completed order. You still pay Amazon the listed price. This disclosure page has no Amazon button.

Are there buy links on this page?

No. Buy buttons live on the household guides: a well kit, a PFAS filter, reverse osmosis, a truck, grab bars, permethrin for clothes, garage cabinets, or a canopy.

How do you pick a well test, a filter, or a truck?

From the problem in the house. A Suffolk private well gets a lab kit. PFAS gets NSF 53, P473, or reverse osmosis. 1,4-dioxane gets reverse osmosis. A move gets a truck and usually a day's help. We do not pick the shop that would pay more.

If I skip the Pipedeck button and buy the same thing, do you still get paid?

Usually no. A commission starts only if you use a buy button on a guide and the shop later counts a completed order from that click. If you already know the store and you check out without that button, Pipedeck typically earns nothing. The guide is still free to read.

Does Pipedeck get a cut of Suffolk's $100 well test?

No. Suffolk well testing is 631-852-5810. That county fee stays with the county. A shop kit on a well guide is a different checkout.

If I return a filter or cancel a truck, do I still pay Pipedeck?

No. You never pay Pipedeck a line on the order. If the shop refunds you, you are done with the charge. If a later commission to us is cancelled because the order did not stick, that is between the shop and us. You do not owe Pipedeck a balance.

Will Pipedeck show up on my card statement?

No. The shop you checked out with is the seller. Pipedeck does not run the card and does not hold the payment.

Do you charge a membership or a fee to read the guides?

No. There is no membership, no subscription, and no tip jar. Opening a Long Island household guide does not start a bill. The only money that may come to Pipedeck is a commission from a shop after a completed buy from a button on a guide.

If two shops sell the same box, do you pick the one that pays you more?

No. We pick the class that matches the job on that page, then we keep the button on a Pipedeck path. We do not rank stores by payout. If a better local program covers the same job — a county kit, a filter that actually matches the chemical — we will point there instead.

Who refunds a wrong order or a late truck?

The shop you paid. Do not send a return to 65 Cedar Street in Kings Park. Pipedeck cannot reverse their charge.

Do you get paid if I only read the page?

No. A visit is not a purchase. We do not charge per article, and we do not bill you for staying on the page. A commission is possible only after a shop records a completed order that started from a buy button on a guide.

What does a qualifying purchase mean here?

It means the shop counted the order as complete after you used a Pipedeck link — not a click you abandon in the cart, and not a browse with no checkout. You still pay the shop's listed price that day. You do not pay a second price to us. This disclosure page has no Amazon button.

Commissions come from shops after a completed purchase. Public numbers on the guides come from the records those pages name.
